In small park BIG RUN we will be looking at Land and Food.
Little did we know when we first mooted this possibility back in September 2023 that only a month later, the whole of the land inn Gaza would be subject to devastating bombing and the people there to a terrible genocide.
The theme is all the more important now: both as a result of the war on Gaza and the increased pressure on Palestinians in the West Bank from settlers.
We want to point out the terrible conditions under which Palestinian farmers struggle to produce food, as well as the wider food system distortions that occur as a result of occupation.
But we chose this theme because we also want to celebrate Palestinian culture and enjoying a community meal of Palestinian food, and coming together to tell stories seemed a special way to do this. Look out for details of this meal for the Saturday evening.
