Cafe des Amis is five minutes walk from the park. Food is available all Saturday and Sunday, 10% of anything spent will be donated to the small park BIG RUN causes. You will need a voucher available at the run.
Saturday June 10th
11.30 am – First runners can sign in
Midday – Run starts opened by the Lord Mayor. Louise Haigh, labour parliamentary candidate for Heeley and Diyar, a Palestinian Women’s football team lead off the run.
2pm – Walled garden open for tea and cake and photo exhibition.
2.00 – 3.30 pm – Lantern workshop, Walled garden.
2-3.30 pm – Street Tennis on MUGA (Multi use games area, by playground)
4.15 pm – FILM: A running occupation – in Walled Garden marquee
9.45 pm – Dinner available for people fasting over Ramadan
Sunday June 11th
4 am – Breakfast available for people fasting over Ramadan
10.30 am – Penalty shoot out for children with members of the Palestinian Football team.
11.15 am Carfield choir recital at Meersbrook Hall
11.55 am – Final lap.
Midday – Run finishes.
Midday – Walled Garden re-opens for tea and cake.
12.10 pm – Countdown with Gaza runners at Meersbrook Hall.
12.15 pm – Start fun run.
12.30 – Fun run finishes.
2.00 – Walled Garden and event finishes.
